Day 179 Hinkle-tee-pink

Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the confidence we first had. Hebrews 3:12-13

Sometimes we get arrhythmia of the soul and have a sense that spiritually something is not quite right wit hus...Perhaps our passion for pursuing Christ has waned, maybe our joy in life has diminished, perhaps our behavior no longer reflects a commitment to Christ and we feel spiritually dry.

In those moments, before we lose the sensation of something being wrong, before we get used to a “new” normal, it’s wise to take action. We are all vulnerable to becoming used to a sickly soul; believing that everything is okay when it really isn’t.

Arrhythmia of soul, left untreated, robs us of the full and healthy spiritual life that God intends for us to have. The prescription is self-evaluation, confession, prayer, the study of the Scriptures, and encouragement and counsel from fellow Christ-followers. This is the way that God provides the means to regain a healthy rhythm of the soul.

Today, if you are feeling a strange sensation of the soul, don’t ignore it. Run quickly to the Great Physician who will with gracious compassion make you whole once again.
