In Christ, death
is "swallowed up in victory," but Easter resurrection
neither dismisses nor denies our experience of death--what we have
experienced as death is ingested into the reality of life. This is the
miracle of redemption! Our curses are not denied or banished, but
rather transformed through the passage of death into new life.
We live this after-Easter reality tangibly in our everyday life.
Communities that are engaged in "seeing and celebrating good news in hard places" learn to welcome resurrection. It happens not by magical or wishful
thinking, but in openness to God's deep work of (re)creation.
